REPORTED10KG Pre-Introduction Report

At this stage we have not seen a REPORTED10KG PIR so we can perhaps sit on the existing PIR until more information becomes available. In theory, it should cover all the necessary information.

The legislation dictates the pre-introduction report (PIR) for REPORTED10KG must include

• CAS number; and
• CAS name, IUPAC name or INCI name for the industrial chemical; and
• other names by which the industrial chemical is known to the person
• whether it is a solid or dispersion or unknown (or gas or liquid)
• end use for the industrial chemical
• known hazard classifications for the industrial chemical

Since the existing Reported PIR includes all this except for the last item - any known hazard classifications - we do need a new PIR for <= 10kg which includes hazards.

Data in these fields will be reported and blank fields will be "Unknown or not assigned".

If there are no hazards, it will be reported as "No known hazard classifications"

The existing Reported PIR has been enhanced by including the particular hazard(s) of the chemical after the PIR question "Does the chemical have an environment hazard characteristic" is answered 'Yes'. And likewise for health hazards.

This constitutes extra information in the PIR for Reported category but it does mean the same report can be used for both Reported and Reported <= 10kg

This satisfies the requirement and keeps things simple. It also completes the 10kg changes.
